Ok I said I was going to review a game by Tecmo. I lied.
I decided to not do that because I wanted to go back in time and review one of my favorite games for the SNES Super Mario Kart. I am assuming most of you have played this before but I don’t really care I will give you a review none the less. Made in 1992 it gave the player an incredible experience from the start. First off the music is amazing, I am not a person to just use that term loosely when it comes to video games, alot of the times only one or two songs are good. In this game every song is good, with a few being leagues ahead of the others such as Rainbow Road and Bowser’s bad ass death metal music when he wins.
Visually the graphics are awesome, from the character design all the way down to the backgrounds, even the interfaces are a nice thing to be able to look at. The control of the game is awesome as well, it does take a little getting used to but once you do, you can master the controls and dominate. I am used to playing on my computer without a controller so it is a son-of-a-bitch to do espically when you are driving the cars with your right hand instead of the left. Anyways the only advice I can give you is that if you have played this game and are decent, then don’t start on the standard 50cc level go for the gold and jump to 150cc on the Special Cup and win that. For an added bonus if you can beat it with Bowser you are nothing short of a SNES God. I do suggest for players of any experience pick Yoshi, because he seems to have the perfect amount of speed and handling to win at any given time as long as you don’t dick around. If you are in the mood for the best racing game on the SNES this is it, or if you just want a awesome game in general you need to pick this up. This game is in my top 10 classic games of all time hands down, and once you play it I am sure you will agree.
